How I Spent 7 Days in Italy

I recently had the pleasure of spending 7 days in Italy, exploring some of the country’s most stunning and historic cities. My itinerary included stops in Florence, Venice, Rome, Pisa, Siena and other places in the Tuscany region. Overall, my 7-day journey through Italy was a truly unforgettable experience, filled with incredible sights, delicious food, and warm hospitality. I can’t wait to return and explore even more of this beautiful country. Here is my itinerary, which I hope will be useful to you as well one day.

1. Florence

My journey began in Florence, where I was immediately struck by the city’s beauty and charm. I spent several days wandering through the winding streets, admiring the stunning architecture, and indulging in delicious Italian cuisine. Highlights of my time in Florence included a visit to the iconic Duomo, a tour of the Ponte Vecchio, and an evening stroll through the Piazza della Signoria.

2. Road trip through Tuscany

There is so much to see by simply driving through Tuscany (which is the region where Florence is located). So many picturesqe scenes are dotted along the way, just make sure to get off the highway and get on the local roads.

3. Pisa

From Florence, I traveled to Pisa, where I had the chance to see the iconic Leaning Tower up close. While the tower was certainly a highlight of my visit, I also enjoyed exploring the rest of the city and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of this charming town.

4. Siena

I made my way to Siena, where I was captivated by the city’s rich history and stunning architecture. I spent my day wandering through the winding streets, admiring the breathtaking cathedral, and indulging in delicious Tuscan cuisine.

5. Driving to the Tyrrhenian Sea

The road will eventually lead you to the sparkling blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, where you can soak up the sun on one of the many beautiful beaches (or enjoy the clouds over the sea like I did). Along the way, be sure to stop and explore charming towns like Amalfi, Positano, and Sorrento, where you can sample delicious Italian cuisine and experience the laid-back culture of the region.

6. Rome

Next, I made my way to Rome, where I spent several days exploring the city’s ancient history and vibrant culture. Highlights of my time in Rome included visits to the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Vatican, as well as indulging in delicious Italian cuisine and soaking up the lively atmosphere of the city’s piazzas.

7. Venice

From Rome, I traveled to Venice, where I was awed by the city’s unique architecture and canals. I spent my time there exploring the winding alleyways, taking in the stunning views from the Rialto Bridge, and indulging in delicious gelato. One of the highlights of my time in Venice was seeing the sunset over the canals and St. Mark’s Square, which gave me a new perspective on this beautiful city.
