Graz at Night

During my recent visit to Zagreb and Samobor, I also had the chance to drive further north into Austria to the city Graz. It’s the second largest city in Austria. During the day I was busy catching up with friends so I only got to explore the city by night. It was quite the sight. Everything was lit up nicely and there is still so much to see even though everything was mostly closed. Above the city you can find the old fortress (Schlossberg) and a beautiful park. Inside the park there is a old fashioned gazebo and clock tower. In 2003, Graz was named European Capital of Culture, pushing this modest Austrian city into the limelight in terms of art, design and architecture. From an alien-like structure posing as a modern-art gallery (the aesthetically and wonderfully bizarre Kunsthaus) to curiously designed chapels and baroque palaces, there is a plethora of eye-catching buildings in Graz.
