Midday Swimming
We set out early, hoping to beat the heat, my sister, her husband and two boys, and I, heading for Blace for a qucik for a bit of summer escape. The plan was simple: arrive before the sun climbed too high, find a shady spot, and let the kids enjoy the water while we cooled off. But even in the early hours, the heat was relentless. The air was thick and still, buzzing with cicadas, and the ground already radiated warmth. As the sun climbed higher, the heat became almost unbearable. The water, though refreshing at first, couldn’t compete with the weight of the midday sun. After a short swim and a few gulps from warm water bottles, we packed up earlier than planned, our energy drained. I guess it’s best to come at sunset after all…
