Visiting St Pollen in Austria

St. Polten is the capital and largest city of the State of Lower Austria. During my recent road trip I happened to visit it as well. As St. Polten was officially declared a city by the bishop of Passau in 1159, it is Austria’s eldest city as well. In ancient times, the place was known as a Roman colony called Aelium Cetium. I only visited the city center that boasts a combination of historical houses with modern stores. Most prominantley are the Museum Niederosterreich, dedicated to young biologists and history lovers, and the Festspielhaus St. Polten, for lovers of classical and modern music.

Thank you all for joining me in another week of “Through My Lens”. I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a great start into the new week!
